I'm going to go ahead and give the shout out to MaT follower Alyssa Simon for an impressive showing in the half marathon. I would link to the website, but I cannot find the name of the race. I noticed the time since it was nearly the same as my own time from a few months back.
1:27:51 - Well done!
Congrats!
Also thank you to Alyssa for being a faithful reader since the blog's inception. I can only surmise that she knew I went to Emmaus by reading my bitch post.
ReplyDeleteKeen observers will also note that Joe-L Frost-Tift '09, took runner-up honors in the men's race, in 1:09:37.
ReplyDeleteAlso an impressive time
ReplyDeleteLooks to have been about 200' elevation drop. 1:09 and 1:27 are impressive nonetheless.

ReplyDeleteI missed this as I was frantically trying to cram for my last final (an 8 hour take home yesterday). I was happy with the time, considering I lost about 5 weeks in the middle of training to what I thought was achilles tendonitis. The hope of an MaT shoutout is really what drove my training in the last month or so.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks specifically to Sam for the somewhat backhanded compliment.
Hey, I would still take it to the bank. 200 feet isn't that big of a drop; it's just the first thing I noticed when I went to the race's website.
ReplyDeleteAt least I didn't delete my comment.
